Overdue Summer Update!

As these pictures will show, we've been BUSY!
Now that the boys are in Iowa for a week with Papa and Nana Kalvik, I've got a little extra time to get caught up before the next ultra busy phase of moving up north begins in just a few short weeks!

The boys got this slip and slide from Papa and Nana K.
for a birthday gift...
We had to wait a few weeks to break it in because of all the rain...
Our yard was quite the swamp - great for squishing around...

After David's Graduation, we had a joint birthday party for the boys!
Owen with Jack and ParkerIt was a SuperHero (training) party.
We had a picnic at one of our favorite local parks
and the guests completed several super hero related challenges to win door prizes.
Eli enjoyed the caramel apples with his lunch!
Lola, one of our neighborhood friends that Owen plays with EVERY day. They've become quite the buddies that we'll miss having around when we move. :(
AnNa Grace with her brother Henry and daddy Steve
- She and Owen have announced (together) that they're goint to get married!
Memorial Day Weekend was spent with
the Kalvik Grandparents in Branson MO.

We got to spend the Memorial Day weekend on holiday in Branson, Mo. with my parents. Owen, had an absolute blast - always busy with one activity or outing with someone. He rode The DUCK, went fishing, played mini golf, went swimming at Splash Country, and played at a mini amusement park just for kids his size as well as playing and watching movies at our condo.
Eli tagged along on most of the outings as well and had as good of time as he was capable of as he was sick with hand foot and mouth virus. It was so hard to see him struggle and fuss to eat and drink due to the mouth ulcers. It was so obvious that he really wanted to, but he ended up refusing almost everything. He pretty much survived on applesauce, yogurt, and crackers - poor kid.

Daddy David turned 34 in June

We celebrated at home with a yummy meal:
steaks on the grill
mashed potatoes
corn on the cobb
chips
water melon
lemonade
and a chocolate chip cookie cake!
Here's Eli embracing his Iowa roots with a cobb in each hand!
Another fun event for me and the boys was getting to go on a senic train ride.
PBS was there filming for Railroad safety and there was a model train that kids could operate.
Eli is a HUGE train lover but this is as close as I could get him to the model...but he was all smiles and squealing and waving from a distance!Owen and I on the train ride together.
Even though this big boy is 5 he still a self admitted mama's boy...

and that's just fine with me.

:)
