Prairie Grove Battlefield

Here are some pics from our recent mini road trip to Prairie Grove. The town is about 15 miles west of Fayetteville, and is the site of a Civil War battle where some 2,000 Union and Confederate soldiers were killed in action. The park has a self-guided walking trail that details the events of the battle, which took place on December 7, 1862. They also have a bi-annual battle reenactment that we are thinking about attending this year. Wouldn't that be kinda' interesting?
